Founded in 2005, Building Diagnostics & Property Science (BD&PS) is a leading provider of professional engineering consulting services focused on improving the performance of buildings. Our expertise spans from diagnosing and solving existing issues in buildings to enhancing the efficiency of the buildings. We specialize in Building Commissioning, Building Envelope Consulting and Testing, and Energy Management Systems Evaluation.

At BD&PS, we are passionate about advancing the building science industry. Our commitment to progress is reflected in our active involvement in initiatives that promote best practices and enhance the impact of commissioning in the built environment.

One of our notable contributions was assisting the state of Alabama in developing Commissioning Specifications for K-12 schools. This initiative included providing training sessions for school district superintendents, helping them understand the value of commissioning and its long-term benefits for building performance.

In addition, we played a key role in organizing and conducting the 2011 Southeast Regional Building Commissioning Association’s Fall Conference. This event brought together commissioning professionals, property managers, contractors, architects, and engineers from across the Southeast to explore the future of building commissioning. The conference focused on the integration of LEED standards in high-performance and energy-efficient buildings, as well as new methods to verify and optimize building performance.

Through these efforts, BD&PS continues to support the industry’s growth, promote knowledge-sharing, and advocate for better, more sustainable building practices.
